Information: When the Canadian Pacific Railway established Westminster Junction as an extension of the transnational rail line into New Westminster, it provided the nucleus around which the City of Port Coquitlam grew. Engine 371, depicted in the mural, brought the first passenger train across Canada, and was a frequent visitor to the growing city. The original Westminster Junction station was located on Kingsway Avenue, and it was used until it was destroyed by fire in the 1960s.
