Information: The theme for Culture Wave came out of a community-engaged wood relief project for the Port Coquitlam Recreation Centre. The mural was designed as a collage-like representation of cultural activity as it can be seen in and around Leigh Square. The work reflects a cross-section of various cultural activities, compressed into a wave motif. Some of the figures were derived from performers during the time that the mural was created. The pervasive coloration of gold and yellow was used to generate a positive overall energy.
